HEALTHY HOT DOGS

Hot dogs are one of the most popular fast foods ever created. The reason for this is that they taste freaking great. And the reason for that: they are freaking unhealthy. The bun is super high in carbs, the sausage is high in fat and the ketchup basically consists out of sugar. I improved all of these ingredients and brought hot dogs to the next level. May I proudly present: HEALTHY HOT DOGS. You have to try them out if you are a hot dog lover like me.

Ingredients (for 3 delicious hot dogs)

  • 100g flour
  • 100g low fat Greek Jogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 package baking powder
  • 3 fat reduced sausages
  • sugar reduced ketchup

By the way the buns are super soft. And because the dough contains Greek Jogurt and an egg instead of sugar and oil, it is unbelievable healthy. Enjoyable in ANY diet. As toppings I use fried onions and prickles. For a lower calorie version I also love to use low fat cheese. Put it in your microwave and let it melt…

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C / 360°F.
  2. Mix flour, Greek Jogurt, egg and baking powder. Form into hotdog buns.
  3. Bake for 12 minutes.
  4. Slice the buns, add sausage, toppings and ketchup.
  5. Enjoy and make sure to follow @kleyfood !
