Healthy Baked Apples

My grandmother always makes baked apples for me. But she always puts tons of sugar in there and serves them with a vanilla sauce that contains even more sugar. So I decided to make my own healthy baked apples. It’s just a perfect snack.

So for my healthy version I filled the apples with oats, nuts and to add some more protein egg whites. I seasoned the filling with cinnamon. You can’t imagine how good the smell was when I opened the oven. And so was the taste! This instantly became my favourite snack!

Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 apples
  • 40g oatmeal
  • 50g nuts of your choice
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C / 360°F.
  2. Cut off the lid of the apples and hollow out the apples with a spoon.
  3. For the filling mix oats, nuts, egg whites, honey and cinnamon.
  4. Fill the apples with the mixture.
  5. Bake for 20 – 25 minutes. Enjoy 😉
